Honeymoon

As we had a small wedding so was our honeymoon in Quebec City. We got very lucky with our honeymoon. As my boss knew about our mariage and knows the manager of the Fairmount Chateau Frontenac, we got our Gold room for the price of a regular room. This included reception for top rooms on 14th floor, evening cocktails and breakfast. It was great! They knew our names and we felt like royalty.

We had decided to take the train 1st class to and from Quebec City. But not long after we had bought our tickets, there was a strike and we feared it would go thru to our honeymoon but it didn't. As for the incoveniences of the strike, Via rails gave a discount on all train tickets and we got refunded part of our tickets and so we got our 1st class tickets for the price of economy. The train ride was really nice and so was the food.

We did some touring of the city, saw "Le moulin a Image", went to "Le continental" restaurant and on our last day we did a photoshoot wearing our wedding clothes.

It was a short 3 day honeymoon but it was wonderful.

We're married!!

Yes, we are married. We got married secretly on Wednesday. August 12th 2009.

The only people there were our 2 witnesses, Isabelle and Clayton. It wasn't special in the sence that we did it in the notary's conference room and did not write our own vows or anything, it was really very basic.

Afterwards, we walked in the old port to take some pictures and then we took our two witnesses to the restaurant to thank them for taking the day off for us.

We had a nice little wedding cake from Patisserie Mercier on Jarry st as I grew up with pastries from there. It was a carrot cake with white and blue icing and Mickey & Minnies wedding salt&pepper shakers for ornaments. IT was delicious!!!

Wedding Dress episode 1

Well,
Saturday, I went on my first day of wedding dress shopping with my maid of honor Isabelle and my mom. It was horror!

We first went to Sposabelle where my mom had made a reservation for me. When we got there, they claimed that we didn't have an appointment and they said we had a 20% discount until Valentine's but the girl told mom on the phone that I had 50% off since I gave my name at "Let's get married". The lady that served us did not seem to want to be there. She would try and get me into dresses that were 2 sizes too small and then let me get out of the cabin. We stayed there just over an hour and I tried about 8 dresses only 1 was nice but not the "wow" that we're looking for.

We then went to "Oui, je le veux" which I remember always liking the dresses in the window. I did not have an appointment but the man at the front got us a saleswoman. She was very nice and helpfull. We found one dress that has the prefect style for my cleavage "wow" but I was not a huge fan of the rest of the dress it was nice but not "wow". I had just spent about 3 hours there and decided I had enough so I tried one last dress with some red it was gorgeous "wow", love it!

At the moment, I'm just looking since we're getting married in a year and a half, I have lots of time to find the perfect dress and lose weight. This dress trying is exhausting and I did not enjoy putting on and taking off those dresses without talking about the time it takes for the lady to tie it up in the back. I don't think I want to do this more than once a month. I'm exhausted just thinking about it!!!
